excuses, excuses, excuses!

I know that I have been less then awesome at updating my blog. I use the excuse that I have just been so busy, and I really have been busy... but it just an excuse. I am really good at excuses! Being as busy as we have been I did get a few pictures of what we have been doing the past month.. so hold on to your hats... here we go!!!

This is some of the amazing women I work with in Young Women's (the group of girls at church who are 12-18 years old) We went to the Temple for a "ladies night". It was a great night to go with all of the gals. We decided to make a little stop for a bite to eat. We all had a lot of fun!

I decided that the van was in much need for a car wash, and because the kids love going through the car wash I thought it would be a fun outing on a hot summer day. I also thought it would be a great way to break up the errands I already had to do anyway. The girls had a great time, laughing and singing about the "BIG HARRY WASHERS" Keith was less then thrilled. He didn't understand why it was so dark and why something so scary could be so funny. I was glad I had my camera in the car.
We had Keith's friends ( a set of twin boys from church) come to play at our house while there mom went to the Doctor. They had so much fun jumping on the car! They kept saying they were monkeys. They had a blast. I am glad that I didn't ever have more then 1 at a time. I do not know how women do it with 2 toddlers.
I am extremely lucky to be working with the girls at church! I am responsible for helping them receive their young woman's recognition. This is an accomplishment similar to receiving the Eagle scout. The girls do 70 hours worth of projects that fit into different goals they set. One activity they did was to learn the elements of design and execute that design in a room within a budget. The girls decorated Kelsey's room. I let them make all of the decisions, and do most all of the work. I was told by many that I was brave to let these girls take over the room. I thought it was a great idea, I knew that would be able to know what a young girl wanted more then I would and it was also free labor... I figured I could not go wrong. The wost that could happen is that I would have to re-paint.

The girls ended up doing a super job!!! I loved what they did in the room. Kelsey really liked it too! The girls worked really hard to get everything done before Kelsey's birthday.

The painted stripes on the wall. NOT an easy task! They did awesome! Everything was straight and painted so well. I was so impressed with the skills the girls had.

Between the hot pink, orange, lime green a purple Kelsy's room is really bright! When you walk down the hall in the middle of the day you can see her room glowing!

Keith Love's her room too! We can not get him to leave!

Here is a before picture so you can see the change! There was a huge change. Shelby's room is the next on the list.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELSEY!!! Kelsey has been asking for an American girl doll for a long time!!! She got Mia from mom and dad, and grandma and grandpa Anderson. She has not put her doll down sense she got her.

BIG 8 YEARS OLDShe got a really cute dress and an American girl doll book from her Grandma and Grandpa Allred. What a Luck girl! She is in American girl Heaven!

I really love this picture of Keith. It is not recent, but I just love it... We gave both of the boys a fohawk for about 5 min. before we cut it all off, but Keith cried the entire time so we kept giving him Candy to keep him from crying. He has candy all over his face, and he is not sure if he should laugh of cry. If you are having a bad day, just think of Keith fohawk and all, and it will make everything so much better!

That's so cool that you are working with the YW. I'm the personal progress advisor in our ward as well. It has to be my favorite calling I've ever had. We'll have to have a chat about our experiences some time.

I love Kelsey's room! It is so neat, and who doesn't love free labor? One less room for you and your mom to paint! LOL!

P.S. I love Keith's fohawk. I have tried to do one with Parker's hair, but it's too thin and fine to stay up. Perhaps when he is a little older.
